Instead of popping out a bland roll of cranberry sauce from a can, consider making my yummy version. It features fresh cranberries seasoned with orange zest, lemon juice and a kiss of minced ginger. This colorful relish is perfect with turkey or as a tangy snack.

      • 2 Medium Oranges (1 Zested, Both Juiced)
      • 1 Cup Sugar
      • 2 Teaspoons Fresh Lemon Juice
      • 2 Teaspoons Fresh Ginger (Minced)
      • 1 Bag Fresh Or Frozen Cranberries (12 Ounces)
      • 1/2 Teaspoons Freshly Ground White Pepper


  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and lemon juice and cook until sugar starts to caramelize, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in ginger & orange zest and saute for another 1 minute.
  3. Add cranberries, juice, and pepper and keep stirring until cranberries are soft and slightly cracked, for about 5 minutes (about 7 if frozen).
  4. Allow to cool to room temperature.
