Thai-Style Zesty Papaya Salad Recipe

This vibrant salad has a pleasant crunch, thanks to freshly julienned green papaya and carrots. It has a decidedly Thai-inspired flavor with the addition of fish sauce, garlic, hot Serrano chilis, and some zesty cilantro. Sprinkle crushed peanuts on top for the traditional Thai garnish.

      • 1/3 Cup Lime Juice (Freshly Squeezed)
      • 2 Tablespoons Fish Sauce
      • 1 Medium Shallot (Minced)
      • 2 Medium Serrano Chili (Seeded & Minced)
      • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
      • 1 Large Garlic Clove (Minced)
      • 1 Large Green Papayas (Peeled & Shredded)
      • 2 Medium Carrots (Peeled & Shredded)
      • 8 Small Cherry Tomatoes (Halved)
      • 2 Tablespoons Mint Leaves (Julienned)
      • 1/2 Large Bunch Fresh Cilantro Leaves (Chopped)
      • 1/3 Cup Peanuts (Finely Chopped)


  1. In the bowl of a food processor, combine the lime juice, fish sauce, shallot, chiles, sugar and garlic and blend until smooth. Set aside for 15 minutes.
  2. In a large serving bowl, add papayas, tomato halves, carrots, mint leaves, and 1 tablespoon cilantro and toss well.
  3. Drizzle the dressing over salad and toss until coated. Garnish with the remaining cilantro leaves and chopped peanuts.
