Ingredients

      • 1 Cup Shortening (At Room Temperature )
      • 1 1/2 Cups Granulated Sugar
      • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
      • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
      • 1/4 Teaspoon Almond Extract
      • 2 Large Eggs
      • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
      • 3 Tablespoons Milk
      • 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour

Directions

  1. In a bowl of a stand mixer, add shortening and beat until creamy. Add sugar gradually and beat for 5 minutes. Add eggs, both extracts, and salt. Mix until combined.
  2. In a small bowl, dissolve baking soda in milk and add to egg mixture. Add flour 1 cup at a time until it makes a soft dough. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a sheet pan.
  4. Place dough onto floured surface and roll into 1/8-inch thickness. With a cookie cutter or a small drinking glass, cut cookies and arrange onto the prepared sheet pan about 1 inch apart. Bake until lightly browned, 6-8 minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.
