      • 1 Pound Rhubarb (Cut Into 2-Inch Pieces)
      • 1 Cup Fresh Orange Juice
      • 1/2 Cup Caster Sugar
      • 2 Star Anise
      • 1 Cinnamon Stick (Broken In Half)
      • 1 Vanilla Pod (Split)
      • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
      • 1/4 Cup Raw Sugar
      • 2/3 Cup Sliced Almonds
      • 1 Pinch Ground Cinnamon
      • 1/4 Cup Unsalted Butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine orange juice, sugar, cinnamon stick, star anise and vanilla over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until a syrup is formed.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, almonds, sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in the butter into flour mixture until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. In the bottom of a cast iron pan, place rhubarb pieces and top with syrup evenly. Sprinkle with topping evenly. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until the top becomes golden brown
